If you're flush for keys, you could open with 7c, but if you see a good shop item and can't buy it, that item is removed from the pool for the rest of the run. >Don't even open a shop unless you have at least 15c. >Always go Downpour/Mines for potential rerolls and mirror boss. Delirium/Chest/Dark Room/Mega Satan routing (the fallback/default route) Beast (don't forget to drop a trinket you shouldn't have to do Beast more than once per character) Boss Rush/Hush (+Delirium routing if you have absolutely nothing else to go for) Desired unlockable (top priority in most cases) >When doing runs, follow the flowchart to determine your path and playstyle, in order of importance: >Once you have Beast access, grind out your Tainteds because some of the consistently best unlocks in the game are there - Crane Game, Fool's Gold rocks, nearly everything on tLilith, etc. >Collect good starter items for your characters once you're satisfied with your lineup - unlock D6 for Isaac (, can be acquired after 10 Heart kills by rolling an Angel Room or after 11 by killing It Lives and getting the guaranteed Cathedral warp), grind out Greed/Greedier for Mantle on Lost (you need 1k coins for Keeper anyway), etc. >After killing Lamb once, Dark Room tunnelling can get you to Mega Satan as early as 1 clear deep into a new save - this will get you Apollyon >Sacrifice Room and WNtGD can tunnel you into Dark Room/Sheol respectively, abuse them mercilessly to unlock good shit early like Mom's Knife ( ), Forget-me-now ( ), Missing Poster (, required to unlock Lost), Curved Horn ( ), etc. >You need minimum 10 Heart kills to reach Hush, 3 Hush kills to reach Mother, and 1 Mother kill to reach Beast and start collecting Tainteds - remember this The objectively true and best way to play Isaac, from start to finish:
